A treatment will involve gentle manual therapy which is applied to the areas of the body which require treatment. This therapy will restore optimal mobility and functioning to these areas thereby relieving pain and restoring the structural integrity of the body. It is essential to have mobility in the muscles and joints of the body, most especially in the joints and muscles of the spine, as these tissues influence the natural functions of all the internal organs of the body, through the central nervous system which is housed within the cranium and spinal cord. Jennifer will consider the past medical history, emotional factors and lifestyle when assessing your complaint. After a thorough medical history has been taken an osteopathic examination will be performed and based on the findings of this examination an appropriate course of treatment will be chosen. This is the passive aspect of your treatment. Jennifer may also instruct you on some complemenary active treatment which involves various positions of Tibetan Healing Yoga and Yoga spinal Therapy. Healing Yoga is practised to rebalance internal energy and flush energy channels within the body. Yoga healing techniques rely for their effectiveness on the power of the control of the breath. These techniques are able to balance internal energy, open energetic channels and relax the mind. |
